Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve
Wind-sculptured elfin woodlands on the exposed ridges are spectacularly dwarfed, whereas protected cove Monteverde rainforests have majestically tall trees festooned with orchids, bromeliads, ferns, vines, and mosses. Poorly drained areas support swamp forests, while parts of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, dissected by deep gorges, have numerous crystal clear streams tumbling over rapids and waterfalls.
The variable climate and large altitudinal gradient has helped produce an extremely high biodiversity. Spectacular wildlife includes the Jaguar, Ocelot, Baird´s Tapir, Three-wattled Bellbird, Bare necked Umbrella bird and Resplendent Quetzal. |

Selvatura Conservation Project
Selvatura is a private conservation project comprised of 750 acres of primary cloud forest. This forest is adjacent to the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve so it is quite extensive. Its Canopy Tour is one of the safest and most thrilling adventures of all time. The visitors will be able to see the marvels of the primary cloud forest from a bird's eye view. It is also possible to observe some of the cloud forest's most amazing flora and fauna including a wide variety of epiphytes, monkeys and exotic birds. Surely this tour is the experience of a lifetime.
Our tour consists of 14 platforms connected by stainless steel cables on which our visitors cruise through primary cloud forest while being attached by a top class security harness. The total length of the tour is 1.8 miles (3 kilometers) cruising through altitudes of up to 300 feet (100 meters). This tour also features the longest single cable, 700 meters, and an optional tarzan swing. All of Selvatura's Canopy guides are highly trained for maximum safety. |

Sky Trek
Perhaps you have always wanted to fly. At Sky Trek, you can come close. Willing visitors are strapped into a harness and glide on zip lines, traveling to canopy observation platforms above the huge trees of the cloud forest far below. Start on the easiest of 11 lines, and when you crave more, turn up the heat.
Sky Trek takes about 2 1/2 h. One zip line coasts 417 feet above the ground for 2,460 feet, while another reaches speeds of 30 mph. Climbing the 90-foot-tall canopy observation tower can, however, be just as intimidating. |

Sky walk
It is a combination of suspension bridges and platforms built in the cloud forest, that offers an opportunity to explore the forest canopy in a safe and easy manner. The tour includes 2.5 km of trails and six suspension bridges across deep canyons at the level of the tree tops. The longest bridge is about 243m. (800 feet) in length.
Sky Walk allows a vision of the forest from a different perspective which starts with a walk on the ground through the forest, and takes you up to explore the tops of the trees. |
